The Iris is one of the more difficult of the Intermediate models due to many of the folds being rather small. Depending on the color of the paper and the angle that the petals are folded, this model can also be called a Lily.
The paper here is 15cm x 15cm, single-sided origami paper. It is currently folded into the Square Base with the open side pointing away from you.
Raise the topmost right flap.
Squash fold and crease.
Repeat this for the other 3 flaps.
Fold the top left edge to meet the vertical center line. Crease then unfold.
Fold the top right edge to meet the vertical center line. Crease then unfold.
Turn the model 180°.
Open the top flap.
Petal fold and crease.
Fold the small triangle down.
Repeat Steps 5 through 10 on the other three sides. Then turn the model so that the open side faces away from you.
Fold the left flap over so that the surface is flat.
Fold the bottom left edge in so that it meets the vertical center line.
Repeat with the right side.
Repeat Steps 12 through 14 on the other three sides.
